What is Vedanta?
Vedanta is a means of knowing yourself. To know that which you essentially are. The source of this can be found in the ancient Vedic scriptures, such as the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita.
Intensive Vedanta Retreat
met André Vas in India
from January 8 to 18, 2025
Andre Vas is a Vedanta teacher from Australia who is coming to India this winter. Andre teaches Vedanta along the lineage of Swami Dayananda and Swami Paramarthananda.
His first introduction to Vedanta was through James Swartz.
The seminar will be held at an Ayurvedic centre in Karnataka, on the west coast of India (300 km south of Goa).
Vedanta study group
In a study group, a book on Vedanta is read and discussed one chapter at a time. "The Essence of Enlightenment" by James Swartz is very suitable for this. There is a Vedanta study group in Arnhem, among other places. If you live elsewhere, you can get in touch with other interested people through this site.
James Swartz
James Swartz is a Vedanta teacher who lived much of his life in India and gained a great deal of knowledge about Vedanta and the Vedas there.
He has written an inspiring book that is very suitable to read and discuss in a Vedanta study group.
