Advaita (non-dualiteit) volgens Vedanta
Many of us are (perhaps vaguely) familiar with the concept of Advaita (non-dualism). Reality appears to consist of a multiplicity, but is in reality not two, but one. How on earth? Well, the ground of everything is simply consciousness, and all impermanent things are a temporary expression of that.

Video series on the Aparokshanubhuti
Here you can find a summary of a fascinating video series on the important text Aparokshanubhuti of Shankara, explained by Swami Sarvapriyanada. His wisdom and vast knowledge, humour and clear way of teaching made me want to watch the whole series. Because I have always studied with simultaneous note-taking, I have made a summary of it that you can download in PDF form.

Discover true freedom
Welcome to the timeless wisdom of Advaita Vedanta, a non-dual philosophy rooted in the ancient Vedas. Through respected texts such as the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and Brahma Sutra - we explore the deepest questions of life: "Who am I? What is my relationship with the cause of the universe? What is the ultimate purpose of life? How do I permanently free myself from feeling like a small-limited mortal being? What was there before the universe came?".

Bhagavad Gita
In our study group in Arnhem recently we have been intensively engaged in studying the Bhagavad Gita. We used the translation by Rory Mackay. This Vedanta expert also provided each chapter with explanations and fascinating commentary.
A participant in our study group, Harrie de Kruijff, made a summary of the chapter before each meeting. All 18 chapters of the summary have been bundled by him and can be downloaded here.

Weekend with James Swartz in Oss (NL)
Below is a review of the seminar with James Swartz, which I attended last weekend in Oss.
It is a free representation of some teachings that James emphasized. What else specifically stood out? The teaching style is becoming more and more visual. James has designed a beautiful version of the dancing Shiva. Using his wealth of knowledge, he explains its symbolism.
